Rescue Family Friday - season finale

Today’s story is my story. It’s not about a rescue though, you’ve all read my story on that already. Today’s story is about thanks. Putting on an event of this magnitude requires a lot of assistance. There is no doubt about that. So, I’ve got some people to thank.

The first group I want to give thanks to is our amazing sponsors. PetSmart is back as our title sponsor for year two, and Alpha Media is back as our official media partner. How amazing have they been? Have you heard the commercials on their radio stations? Also back for year two are PrimeSource Funding, Century 21 Atwood, Atwood Property Management, Reichel Insulation, River Hills Pet Care Hospital, Minnesota Valley Pet Hospital, Wow Zone, River Valley Running, All-Star Nutrition and Paisley Parrot Design. New to our event this year are Snell Motors coming in as a platinum level sponsor. Also new this year is True Connections Canine Academy, Hatanpa Insurance, JP Fitness, Mankato Motors, Bark Box, Jones Law and Rising Sun Chiropractic.

Volunteers…… thank you so much for taking time out of your busy schedules and lives to help us put this event on. From the members of the race committee to everyone there on race day. Thank you.

After last year, I decided that it was time to create my own company to handle these events. So, Key City Running was born, and with it my new team to help me out. Please be sure to thank them when you see them on Sunday. The staff members will all be wearing a light grey Running For Rescues sweatshirt with ‘STAFF’ on the back. You’ll find Nicole working with the volunteers and the dog obstacle course, another Nicole and Samantha working with the registration and packet pickup, and Joel & Mikaela doing the photography. Thank you team Key City Running!

Lastly, I want to give a huge shout-out to my new office and team, American Way Realty and specifically Angie VanEman-Riley who came in to support a new team member with a very generous donation to the race on behalf of, and in memorial to, Murphy The Magnificent's Legacy. Thank you!

And as series finales like to do, I’ll leave you with a couple of cliffhangers. One, the Running For Rescues will be moving to a new date next year, not the final Sunday of September. Two, there will be a new race coming from Key City Running in 2020. When, where, and for what charity? Stay tuned!

Thank you everyone,

Erik Jensen
